For the child's heart
I dispose of my love.
Only I and my own music
left in the night.
At the poet's hearth
I swear by my life
All the notes that he has written
and his words will echo through time.
I once wished for the aftermath,
embraced by the wooden sound of a typewriter.
That night shall forever bear my name,
stamped on the faded paper.
I once wished for a life.
A life, I have.
Filled with the undying, distant and untouchable beauty of the rusalka - my crystal muse.
A life I shall never forget.
Yet I long for the freedom.
I inhale the fresh spring air and raise my head.
and see the most beautiful skybox ever created.
Walnut planks, reflecting the hearth's warmth.
The warmth I bear in my soul.
I long for the life, one of great peace and bittersweet solitude, sounding through the rusty keys of D minor.
Where death can be seen, laying its calm steps over the snowy hills.
Where, at any given moment, I am but a sand grain away from flying. Embracing the bird as my own and escaping.
This fantasia conceals my love, dreams and being.
I wish to be decent, but I am sentenced to the life of a shadow.
I wish to be everything and nothing at once.
Yet neither, can I be,
For all I am is smoke and mirrors.
